No problem
![]() If you decide to buy a new laptop, create a thread for advice if you want and we'll help you choose what's right for you. When I'm in a retail store browsing around, I really hate to see technology sales reps be pushy with a sale. Most of the time, they end up pitching a product to a customer that they don't even need (and never will need). They don't get any kind of commission...they're just trying to increase store sales. Oh...some of them get bonuses based on how much they sell but the main objective is to increase store sales. |

Besides, I wouldn't trust Windows 98 let alone going wireless with it.

Fzero, scratch the link I posted above. You would need to get one of these...considering you have Windows 98 SE (Second Edition) and at least 64MB of RAM. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...110&Tpk=WPC54G

don't try to hook up a 98 to internet
I have a 98 laptop too, strictly for games. While were on the topic, my 98 laptop has no sound, it lost it after getting a virus countless years back. Any way to get the sound back? (Pentium II, HP Omnibook) |

You stated that you game on your Windows 98 laptop so you may not want to do this: get rid of Windows 98 and install a version of Linux be it Ubuntu, or if you have to have an OS that's organized like Windows try out Kubuntu.
Most Linux distributions has a live version that you can test out on your laptop (or desktop) before installing anything, so that you can see if the wireless mode works, etc. It's a heck of a lot more secure than Windows 98... |
