A word is given. The next poster takes each letter of that word and creates a word that starts with that letter and creates a sentence using all of the letters from that word. (in order) Then he or she posts a new word. Keep these words of reasonable length, no antidisestablishmentarianism or anything like that

Examples

If the word given was HEART - a sentence would be "He entered a rare text."
If the word was CAT a sentence would be "Cathy ate tuna"

PILL is the word

In support of our upcoming transition to a new Content Management System for the site (not our forums) I have created a sub-forum for all reviews. I believe that I found all reviews that have been submitted thus far.

There are a total of 16 reviews and they can be found here:

http://www.nintendo-daily.com/forums...play.php?f=209

If I missed any, just let one of the Moderators (or admins) know and we'll get it moved to the reviews sub-forum.

Once the new site is in place, we will no longer have a reviews sub-forum on the site. All reviews will then be submitted via the new site's Content Management System.

Until then, feel free to submit reviews :woohoo:

Check out the Review Guidelines!

I got home from the lake yesterday and I was playing my model 1 ds all weekend since that's what I have and when I got home I whipped it out and I stared at the fact that my right side of the top part of the ds was swinging back and forth. While it still works it appears that the other half circle of the hinge snapped off and I still have the other piece.

So, what? Should I crazy glue it?

I'm really not liking the reliabillity of these things with the touch screen being non-visible in any sort of light due to it scratching so easily but I refuse to buy one of the other 60 models of ds' they've made... I'll wait for 3ds as long as it's backward compatable...... I sure hope it is :-/

Pokémon HG/SS - Pokéwalker: The Basic Guide

Pokéwalker: The Basic Guide (WIP)

Wirelessly (using infrared signals) import Pokémon from your HeartGold or SoulSilver game cartridge to a portable gadget that uses a watch battery? Sounds pretty cool, right?

This portable gadget, called the Pokéwalker, comes bundled with HeartGold and SoulSilver and is shown below.

So...exactly how does this work?

The concept is actually pretty basic. The Pokéwalker connects to the HeartGold and/ or SoulSilver game cartridges using infrared signals. These are the same signals that are commonly used in remote controls for televisions. Once you transfer a Pokémon you can start "walking" it. The device tallies up the steps you take and converts them to watts. You may ask yourself how it tallies up the steps you take. The device functions as a pedometer, which detects the motion of a person's hips. Although the accuracy of each pedometer varies from person to person, it seems to be fairly accurate. Every 20 steps taken accumulates 1 watt.

Watts are important if you want to unlock different Pokéwalker routes or battle wild Pokémon. Each route gives you the opportunity to encounter new Pokémon and find different items. Initially, you have only two basic routes to choose from; Refreshing Field and Noisy Forest. The other routes that can be unlocked, are as follows.

Pre-National Pokédex

Pokéwalker Route Name

Watts Needed

Rugged Road

50

Beautiful Beach

200

Suburban Area

500

Dim Cave

1,000

Blue Lake

2,000

Town Outskirts

3,000

Post-National Pokédex

Pokéwalker Route Name

Watts Needed

Hoenn Field

5,000

Warm Beach

7,500

Volcano Path

10,000

Treehouse

15,000

Scary Cave

20,000

Sinnoh Field

25,000

Icy Mountain Road

30,000

Big Forest

40,000

White Lake

50,000

Stormy Beach

65,000

Resort

80,000

Quiet Cave

100,000

There are other routes available through special Pokémon events and various unlock methods.

Can I battle Pokémon while using the Pokéwalker?

Yes, the Pokéwalker has its own menu that can be viewed on the digital readout screen. There's an option to use the Poké Radar that allows you to battle a wild Pokémon. Each time you use the Poké Radar, it costs 10 watts.

Other points of interest worth mentioning...

The connection between the DS and Pokéwalker can become quirky at times.

As steps are accumulated, it builds experience for the Pokémon. Note that if a Pokémon levels up while in the Pokéwalker, it will not learn any moves, if moves are applicable.

A maximum of 3 items and 3 caught Pokémon can be stored in the Pokéwalker. You'll have to pick and choose which items and Pokémon to carry and trade them out as needed along the way.

I recently played this game a bit. It's a lot like the other Mario Kart series for different systems. Some differences are, there are now 5 cups with a "Lightning Cup" added. However each cup only has 4 races. That means a total of 20 tracks like the other games. Lap lengths are kind of on the short side, but I only played Mushroom Cup so I don't know about any of the other cups. This would be fine if you had 5 laps like the SNES Super Mario Kart, but you only have 3 laps like Mario Kart 64.

I'll tell more about the game later. Has anyone else played it?
